Seward Park Boys Basketball Team Dominates the Court with Back-to-Back Success The Seward Park PSAL Boys Basketball team has quickly become a powerhouse in New York City high school hoops, with an impressive run of accomplishments over the past two seasons. Under the leadership of head coach Katey Wentworth and assistant coach Nishaun McCall—an alumni of the campus and Class of 2018—the team has claimed back-to-back Manhattan II Division championships in both 2024 and 2025. Their relentless work ethic, strategic gameplay, and strong team chemistry have consistently elevated them above the competition and earned them respect across the city.
In both 2024 and 2025, Seward Park advanced to the PSAL Final Four, a remarkable feat that cements their status as one of the city’s elite programs. Their 2024 season was especially historic, as the team battled their way to the PSAL City Championship game, finishing as city finalists after a thrilling playoff run. Coach Wentworth's steady leadership and Coach McCall’s passion—deeply rooted in his connection to the campus—have inspired the players to reach new heights. With a foundation built on discipline, pride, and community, Seward Park’s boys basketball program continues to set the standard for excellence on and off the court.
