Seward Park Badminton Teams Continue Their Championship Legacy

The Seward Park Educational Campus has become a consistent force in citywide badminton, thanks to the dedication and leadership of Head Coach Mitsuru Kakuda and Co-Coach Tsz Yan Yip. The girls badminton team has built an impressive legacy in recent years, highlighted by their PSAL City Championship win in 2022 and a strong return to the finals in 2024 as PSAL City Finalists. Their success is a testament to a culture of discipline, focus, and teamwork that continues to thrive under Coach Kakuda and Coach Yip’s guidance. With a blend of experienced players and rising talent, the girls team has consistently demonstrated their ability to compete at the highest level in New York City.

On the boys side, Seward Park has shown equally strong performance, reaching the PSAL semifinals in both the 2023 and 2024 seasons. The back-to-back semifinal appearances reflect the team’s steady growth and rising reputation in a competitive field. With a training program that emphasizes fundamentals, strategy, and mutual respect, the boys team continues to build momentum year after year. Under the watchful eye of their coaching staff, both the boys and girls badminton teams have helped establish Seward Park as a dominant name in the sport—and the future looks bright for even more championship-level success.
